We have celebrated May with a Pageant in Walton since its revival in 1969.  The modern pageantry follows ancient traditions, and symbolises the departure of winter and the coming of spring.

The May Queen is escorted by her six girl attendants and the Spirit of May, the Chimney Sweep, who sweeps away the winter gloom, and Jack of the Green who carries the crown for his Lady.  The new May Queen was crowned by Abigail, our 2024 May Queen, and she will perform various duties throughout her reign.

A service was held at St. Peter's Church, Walton-on-the-Hill at 11.00 am on Sunday 18th May 2025 featuring the May Queen and her Attendants
